View Full Version : what happens when you use atf5 instead of atf4 in a srt4 tranny!

this is what it looks like when you use the wrong atf. gl5 is non yellow metal frendly since we have yellow metal shift forks it broke down the metal and flaked in side with the needle bearings till it tosted the gears and killed the bearings. here are some pics.

ads you can see the bearings are leaning against the sunchro c clip wich is bent out of oits canal.

ill be replacing 2nd,3rd gears. 3/4 synchro. shift forks 1/2/3/4. needle bearings for 2/3/4. 3/4 synchro c-clip.
for a customer of mine of course.:headbang:

if it has any problems pm me and ill drive to your house ill open it and tell you whats wrong for 150 put it back together if you dont want to fix it illl put it back together for u but if you do want to fix it and it caosts more than 150 i eont chsrge for the diagnostics. just repairs. ;)

Kool i'll let u know cause my tranny feels alil rough and hard to get into reverse....that's years of PowerShifts :guns:

im not saying hes pretty new to srt4 thats all im saying.:rofl:
if i can get all the parts i need he should be up and running by wendsday or thursday
