Should I keep my 2000 civic si which is a built b16 turbo. Cons are no ac no ps. O yeah its not that fast. At best mid to high 12. Or get a auto z28 camaro 1998. Its stock has ac and all that stuff and t tops.

What are the cons if any for the auto transmission? For roll racing and digs.

its not so much the tranny as the stock 7.5 rear end you should be worried about. GM failed on that part of the car

I think the owner told me it had 3.42 gears. 10 bolt rear end .

Not exactly... With an auto he doesn't have to worry about the 10 bolt til he gets some real power.

The 4l60 is where the problem is in this case. People build the auto's up, but eventually realise they will need to run a 4l80, or a th400 to do a whole lot with them.

I thought we already went over this shit. You dont trust me or what?

An auto will net you better et's. A manual will net you better traps. So in a dig auto>manual, but in a roll auto<manual.

Not always ask SZ28 how our dig went, My 6sp against his auto :chuckle: same with the roll.

But on a serious note, you will miss the corner carving abilites the civic has, i know i miss the shit out of my teg :( but i wouldnt trade my camaro for anything in the world

If the op is looking for a corner carver, he is making a mistake looking at an auto.

I think you will miss having a manual. I guess you could always swap trannys if you are willing to spend the time/work. But... a stalled auto is pretty fun too.

Depends on the mileage and condition of the Camaro. LS1 has a better platform if you're wanting to go fast, but if it already has 80,000-90,000 miles on it, you don't want to be building half the motor down the road when you already have, from what I've seen, a built motor in your car now. Only you can decide. :)

80 to 90 isn't shit. People are doing cam swaps at 150k miles and still making some good reliable power.

If he wants to turbo the Camaro like his Honda, he can go to a junkyard and pick up an lq4 for 500 bucks, and make 700hp on it.

I think you would like something new instead of a Honda. It really is a great platform. I don't think you would regret it at all.

A stalled auto if fun... but for a street car, most prefer rowing through the gears.

My first car was a stalled auto.

Do you own an LS1? What kind of power are you making?

I know.. hp is getting crazy. The government is going to put an end to all these high horse power cars coming from the factory again.

Because I am not some master fabricator, so I can't build some crazy turbo car.

The turbo stuff will cost money... I am just saying a built motor isn't as expensive as you would think.

The camaro has 88k. Juicyj is a co worker of mine that has a nice ss camaro. Although his 400hp couldnt beat my little honduh. lol jk man. The runs were nice.

This is the car 88k miles auto t tops leather interior black in 8 out of 10 conditon. Has t tops. What would someone pay for one of these. its a 98 model z28. Motor is bone stock. Also everything works ac and all. Comes with c6 vette wheels and stock wheels.

Hit it on the spot, 88k miles. It looks like a clean car. It's hard to find these cars that haven't been ragged on or modded out. You would have yourself a sweet platform to build on if you want to start on something new. Plus it has A/C and power steering. T-tops are a plus and you and your co-worker can go cruising. :)

I wouldn't pay any more than $6,500 for it.

Wow... look man you said he has a built motor in his Civic... All I am saying is he could have a motor that could handle 700hp on the cheap, probably cheaper than the motor in his Civic.

Whether his dumb ass could put a turbo kit together is another question.

Not really a debate. Its a fact that a lq4 handles power. I never said the turbo would be cheap, or easy to make.

The debate was over whether or not to keep his Civic or get a Camaro. I know that the LQ4 can handle power.
