cant wait to get one.... This new modular 5.0 is gonna rock...They finally gave the ford crowd some bore size to play with...Those awesome dohc heads dont hurt any aswell.

Car is a GREAT starting point, mustangs are gonna be shitting on the maros all over again.

Only time shall tell. Im gonna laugh though if they turn out to be a huge disappointment. But at the same time be kinda sad :(

No chance of them failing... The 4.6l with there tiny ass bore size got the job done once modded right with the N/a 99-01 cobra's...shit a nicely modded 3v 4.6l has some ballz... Now withh the 5.0's much larger bore size and the better flowing and better tech heads, VVt cams, all aluminum light wiegh block....:monkeydance:

The new 4k plus lb mullet maro will go extint again. :rock2:

They do look very promising. Glad Ford finally stepped their game up on the GT model. I've always been a Camaro fan, but these look very nice.

Ford claimes they are the highest flowing head Ford has ever produced....period. Even more than the GT500 or the Ford GT.

If that statement involes the dohc 5.4 cobra R head as well, that is a BIG ass statement. Car will make great power with just basic boltons.

Not too shabby for being stock

That's ome real good power for just a GT. I wonder how much boost it will be able to handle.

Considering the 5.4 made 385hp and this makes more with less cubes then I would think it does.

In 2000, a special Cobra R came in limited production of 300 with a 5.4 L DOHC engine that was rated at 385 hp

Ford claims volumetric efficiency at 110 percent at peak torque rpm and around 100 percent at peak power rpm.

In fact the company says the resulting cylinder head makes better flow numbers than any piece Ford currently has on the shelf, including the 5.0 Cammer head.

the 5.4 4v is a torq motor it has a massive stroke with a pretty damn small bore size. You will not see a STOCK block cobra R revving very high...If it is built to take high revs (fully forged) then you will see big hp numbers.. It makes its power in torq and the powerband starts a 2k rpm and carries on to 6500rpm a dyno sheet from them pretty much is just a plateau of torq. Any how the cobra R head is a great flowing head and so was/is the 5.0 cammer head.

I had lots of diffrent style ford heads including the navi head that is almost a clone to the cobra R head and that had HUGE ports(could almost stuff your fist into it!!!

... The cobra R head had those HUGE port along with some design in the throat of it to increase velocity.

now knowing how good the other heads were on the older 4vavles and with that quote from car craft.....DAMN. Ford FTW

Not bad...the 2v sucked, 3v improved greatly and now the 5.0motor should be promising.

2v was fine... just takes a little more work than the other motors..

glad to see they are starting to put the 4v stuff in even the base model v8 mustang...

Should be a whole lot of development and alot of part manufactures stepping up..

whipple already has bolt on blower kits made for these things..

The 5.0L should make around 600hp @ 7psi which is the maximum boost level recommended for pump gas...

That is on a 2.9L whipple

Ford had to do something to keep up with the new 370z and even hate to say it but the genesis 3.8 v6 coupe knocking on its doors for less money. Come on its the hp wars again but more electronic than before, only now japan is in the ring with korea trying to punch its way in. Have to see a new gt in person or should i say take a ride. Almost bought one before my subie literally but they wanted 100 more than subaru a month.

You're comparing the V6 Genesis to the new 2011 Mustang GT? The 370Z could be compared possibly, but the Genesis is no where close.

nowhere only because hyundai restricted it. You do know that the 2.0T rund the evo engine right? so come on its restricted due to cost and insurance costs as well so yes i compare because rumor puts it in its category within the next 2 yrs. Now personally I will never own another hyundai after my 5th cylinder shut down on me at 70000 miles.

New motor will be awesome; I still don't like the ride, view from the driver seat, the way the cluster's set up, etc.

Just my opinion, a fantastic motor doesn't make up for bad ride quality / driveablilty

I hate fbodys for all the rattles, squeaks, bumps and everything else that they are about. seats strapped to a motor, why the hell not just get a turbo'd honda?

oh, and bring out the caliber so I can crack it. haven't had a set up race yet
